Bella’s not doing well…

2 weeks ago i took her back in to the vet and we did another xray.  Her tumor has doubled in size.  I am very sad.  Her eating has slowed down.  I am now cooking for her so she’ll eat (which i swore I’d never do… lol)

Today has been difficult.  She stumbled and fell.  Her only back leg appears swollen at the knee joint.  She seems very weak and lays in her bed most of the time.  Everyone tells me I’ll know when it’s time…. but I still worry I won’t.  After this evening watching her stumble and fall and have trouble getting around …….If I’m honest with myself I know It won’t be long.  I wish things were different.  Sometimes I think things are put into our lives to help us somehow…even if it’s this painful, somehow there is something I’m supposed to gain from this.  Maybe someday I’ll know.  It’s still hard.

Tomorrow is picture day with Bella and the kids.  I am making a stepping stone with her paw print in it tomorrow as well.

I’m sorry to hear such devastating news. All you can do is show her all the love you have and let her know she isn’t facing this alone. I’m so sorry for what you’re facing. The pictures and stepping stone will be lovely. I hope you can get some joy from these activities.

well, we believe you will know – bella will tell you. so glad you are making a stepping stone, and having pictures with the young ones, we’re sure bella will like that alot.

it’s so frustrating when the spirit is still strong, but the body is wearing down. remember the love you share will always be there. sending our best wishes for bella, you and your entire family.

Thank you for your kind words. It is frustrating. I feel like I’m letting her down by not being able to do more for her.. (even though i know I’ve done for her as well as I know how) – (my heart and my head aren’t communicating with each other.)

It’s a good feeling to have Tripawds for support.
      Thanks again,

So sorry to hear about sweet Bella. Please give her a good belly rub for us and consider listening to our pet hospice care interview podcast for help determining quality of life and coping with end-of-life decisions.

    Hi Jennifer,
My heart goes out to you with love. I am sorry that sweet Bella is not her perky self. I am sure you have done everything in your power to help your girl! My indy has given us many scares this past month and I have embraced every moment and every breath he takes. You do the same with Bella and she will feel your love and that will comfort you both. The love between a tripawd and their mom is like no other…I pray for you and sweet Bella..hugs from Indy’s mom ~~Carol~~
